North Country Cheviot rams from our farm have left their mark on flocks around the region, imparting vigor and muscle (and distinctive ears) to their offspring. We buy half- or three-quarters Northie fleeces from our neighbors to blend in with our Haven line, and on this occasion we’ve incorporated wool from a few black-coated youngsters who get their color from BFL, Romney, and Sally Bill Special genetics. Just like Haven, Grey Haven is a light worsted 3-ply, spun gently to preserve the natural loft of Cheviot wool. This is a hearty yarn for long-lasting garments you can hand down through the generations, but it’s softer than you might think. It’s yarn for outdoorsy people who work hard and think for themselves, like the sheep that grow it. Interchangeable with regular Haven for stripes or other colorwork.
